More Macro Monday- attempts at greens. My kit doesn’t have green and so I was always getting different shades when I mixed small batches. Was aiming for “evergreen”. The suminagashi kit I picked up does not have as vibrant of colors but did have a green (too minty/blue) that helped add greater variation to each mix.

Falling out of bed purple by Alisa Golden
Anyone having a purple-sort of day? The color purple is often associated with royalty, luxury, wisdom, and creativity. We’re feeling all this when looking at this lovely tiny book by Alisa Golden.
Letterpress printed on ink-painted paper “for Suzanne Vilmain and her colour exhibit at Hunt + Gather in NM in 2006″
Library has copy no. 4 of 8, signed by the artist, Alisa Golden under Never Mind the Press. Read more about Golden on her website: neverbook.com

The Lord of the Rings
J R R Tolkien
Illustrations by Ingahild Grathmer, drawn by Eric Fraser.
London The Folio Society 1977 /90
This binding features the “Seven (Silver) Rings for the Dwarf-lords”, within “Three (Gold) Rings for the Elven-kings”, surrounded by “Nine (Red) Rings for Mortal Men”, encompassed by the “One Ring” (Gold) “to rule them all”. Wonderful symbology, and beautiful execution to form the gilt design for the front boards of each book. Top edges of the pages stained in a dark ‘blood red’ color.
